How do you train for Hyrox?
Hyrox training blends the two things the format actually tests: a strength base and the ability to move well under fatigue between stations. At Station Street Fitness, that means Strength sessions for the barbell work - squat, deadlift, press - paired with Metcon and Capacity sessions that mix ergs, running and functional movements, the same combination Hyrox racing demands. Useful equipment to get familiar with includes a ski or row erg, a sled or loaded-carry substitute, wall balls, and a bike, all of which show up in Metcon and Capacity classes. Rather than training Hyrox in isolation, most people prepare well by building a genuine strength and conditioning base first, then layering race-specific pacing closer to the event.
