What we share with CrossFit-style training
Coached classes, not open gym. Every session runs with a coach on the floor, in small groups, with the day's work programmed for you. Barbell lifts - squat, bench, press, deadlift, power clean - sit alongside high-intensity conditioning, and our Metcon and Capacity programs cover the engine work CrossFitters would call metcons and aerobic pieces.
Coaching pedigree, and the community. Our founder and head coach holds CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications alongside a BSc in Exercise and Health Science - the methodology is familiar from the inside, not observed from a distance. Small classes, consistent faces, coaches who know your numbers: what people love most about a good box is what we have built since 2018.
Where we differ
Structured cycles, not varied daily workouts. Our Strength program runs periodised twelve-to-sixteen week cycles - accumulation, intensification, realisation, deload - so you follow a progression built for adaptation over months rather than a different workout each day. Rather than one WOD for everyone, you train across four defined programs and stack them to match your goal, on one membership.
No affiliate branding or competition focus. We do not run the CrossFit Open, affiliate programming or RX/scaled leaderboard culture. Progress is measured against your own lifts and your own engine.

Which should you pick?
If affiliate CrossFit is what you want - the Open, benchmark WODs, the affiliate community - join a box; Perth has good ones. If what drew you to CrossFit is coached group training that makes you genuinely stronger and fitter, with long-cycle strength programming behind it, that is what we built. See our four programs or the Claremont studio page.
FAQs
Is Station Street Fitness a CrossFit affiliate?
No. We are an independent strength and conditioning studio, not a CrossFit affiliate. Our head coach holds CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications, and our coached classes cover similar ground, but we program differently and carry no affiliate branding.
Will I recognise the training if I come from CrossFit?
Mostly, yes. Barbell lifts, coached classes, conditioning pieces and a strong community feel will all be familiar. What changes is the structure, not the content.
Do you run WODs?
Our Metcon and Capacity classes have a programmed conditioning piece each day, which will feel familiar. Strength is the exception: it follows a periodised cycle that builds week on week rather than a standalone workout of the day.
Do I need CrossFit experience to join?
No. Every class is coached and every movement scales. Plenty of our members have never set foot in a box; some come from years of CrossFit. Both settle in within a couple of sessions.
Are there CrossFit boxes in Claremont or nearby?
Perth has a number of well-established CrossFit affiliates across its suburbs. If affiliate CrossFit is specifically what you want, one of those is the right choice. If you want coached classes with long-cycle strength programming in Claremont, that is what we do.
